WOODSPEC 

2001 

Established in Montague Gardens, Cape Town in a 150m2 factory.

We laboured tirelessly, finding our niche in the market, eventually moving our prime focus from office furniture to Shop Fitting and Bespoke furniture pieces.

2003

We relocated to Killarney Gardens to a larger 300m2 factory.

The market had been good to us and there was lots of opportunities to continue growing.

Having made a good impression in the Home Interior and Shop Fitting sectors, we were able to grow our client base and have repeat business from clients.

Due to client demand, in-house spray painting, on a small scale commenced.

2007

Due to the increased demand for, Light Steel Fabrication, the decision was made to purchase the necessary machinery to do the fabrication in-house. This positive move resulted in faster turnaround times.

2008

After securing a long term contract with a locally based company, it was necessary to move to a larger premises.

As a large part of this newly secured contract was spray panting, we purchased an Automotive Spray Booth to cope with both the increase in demand and quality required. 

This department has turned out to be very successful and has grown in strength over the years.

2009

With an increase in work and continued business relationships, once again Woodwork Specialists, would need to find a bigger place to accommodate the expanding departments. 

The move to a bigger premises allowed the commissioning of a second spray booth to be implemented.

2012

To improve our productivity and expand our services, we acquired a 3 Axis Biesse Rover A 1332 CNC router. Thus, the CNC department was now added, to our range of services, that were on offer.

2013

Improving and making full use of the CNC and all it had to offer, a range of Software packages, such as, Alphacam, Cabinet Vision and Autodesk Fusion 360, were acquired.

This allowed us to model 3D components and generate photo realistic renders.

The software also allows us to nest components, meaning, it allows us to get the best yield from the material in turn decreasing wastage. 

     

2014

Having continued to grow over the years, we realised we would need the space to become a fully fledged operation with many in-house departments, that may have previously been farmed out.

The decision was made to purchase the building next to our current factory and to integrate the space into one.

This allowed us to hold stock of finished goods, enlarge our Steel Fabrication and Furniture production space, as well as adding a Laser Cutting machine.

The new purchase of the Laser cutting Machine enabled us to cut and engrave on wood, plastic, paper and leather.

We could now cut or engrave intricate detail on to our jobs, even adding an artistic flair to some of the furniture, we produce for our clients.

2015

A Biesse Klever 1836 G FT  3 Axis Nesting CNC, was added to our already impressive arsenal of manufacturing machinery.

This in turn improved our production, allowing us to cut full sheets of material accurately and timeously.

Various materials can be processed using this CNC, including but not limited to, Chipboard, MDF and Composite.

Our dedicated manufacturing facilities can still be found in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town. Having grown from strength to strength over the years, we continue to manufacture for Retail, Commercial, Corporate and Domestic sectors.

Our team manufactures, produces and installs, Shop Fittings as well as Office and Home Interiors to any Architect's and/or Designer's specifications.

We also manufacture and work alongside Architects and Designers to make Bespoke Office or Domestic furniture, meeting their requirements and specifications.

Since establishment, our company has undertaken various projects nationally and internationally, as numerous furniture pieces can be seen in homes across South Africa as well as Europe and North America.
